The cost of heating oil has reached record levels recently, with some parts quoting upwards or in excess of £1.00 per litre. With the majority of the country looking to cut back costs, more and more homeowners are looking at alternative ways to heat their house.
A good comparison can be made with the price of wood pellets, which are considerably cheaper to burn and are more efficient than the majority of their competitors. At these record prices burning wood pellets would see the heating bills for a typical four bedroom house lowered by nearly £500.
With the renewable heat incentive set to further increase the benefits of renewable fuel, there is set to be a dramatic shift in the way in which people heat their houses over the coming year.
