Traditionally, wood pellets have been one of the main fuel sources in European countries such as Germany and Austria. Each of these locations had their own standards bodies, for instance DINPlus or ONORM, to ensure that the standard of the pellets was kept to a maximum.
With wood pellets becoming increasingly popular on the shores of the UK, along with other countries across the continent, there was a need for a singular regulatory body to be formed to continue this high level of standards.
ENPlus was created to solve this problem. A statement from ENPlus commented: “The goal of the following certification system for premium wood pellets is to secure the supply for the end consumers of standardised high-quality wood pellets that can be fired trouble free in commercially available boilers.”
Thanks to ENPlus, homeowners using wood pellets can be assured of the highest standards of both raw material and performance.
