Wood Chip Boiler saves $135,539 in First Year

In May 2012, a wood chip boiler was installed for Regional School Unit 18 in Oakland (Maine, USA) to supply hot water and heat to three schools within the district.

On top of the huge savings already made since the introduction of the biomass boiler, around $2 million is expected to be saved over the next 15 years, and $490,000 from the reduced operational costs.
