DECC Delays Domestic RHI

The Department of Energy and Climate Change has announced further delays to the domestic RHI scheme. After a consultation of the scheme in September 2012, the launch is now set for spring 2014 and tariff levels will be announced in summer of this year.

Commenting on the news Greg Barker, energy and climate change minister said; ““We remain committed to introducing an incentive scheme for householders, and have today set out an updated timetable for its launch. The RHI, which has been available for non domestic investors for over a year, is a key part of our approach to cutting carbon and driving forward the move to more sustainable low carbon heating alternatives”

As a result of the delay the Renewable Heat Premium payment has been extended to March 2014.
