CPL is pleased to supply its ENPlus A1 high quality wood pellets to Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Restaurant in Barnby Moor, which is the latest hotel to take advantage of a biomass boiler installation.
Installed by RC Kelly Plumbing and Heating, working alongside leading manufacturer Windhager, the new installation will help Ye Olde Bell make significant savings on their fuel bills, and will mean a significant reduction of their carbon footprint.
The new heating system includes a BioWIN 180KW pre-packed plant room, and a cascade wood pellet boiler system made up of three 60kw boilers. A 20 tonne wood pellet storeroom and hopper was also constructed, with an effort made to make the new buildings blend in with the 17th century hotel.
Paul Levack, the owner of Ye Olde Bell said: “We’re proud to be efficiently running the hotel on environmentally friendly fuel. It’s good to have moved the old gas boilers out of the hotel – the new biomass boilers are housed in a purpose built plant room in the grounds and our master joiner, Darren West, has timber-clad the building to blend into the grounds.”
Ryan Kelly of PC Kelly Plumbing and Heating said: “Careful consideration of the expense involved in running such a large hotel off a single inefficient gas boiler led to the decision to design and install a biomass plant room to make the hotel far more environmentally friendly, improve efficiency, and reduce heating costs.
“Surprisingly to my knowledge this is the first hotel in the region to take advantage of such a cost saving and environmentally friendly way to heat a hotel, this is the future of heating systems and is a big step to reducing the carbon footprint.”
