Although the domestic phase of the Renewable Heat Incentive is not currently open for applications, the Renewable Heat Premium Payment is making £12million available to support renewable heat installations.
The domestic RHI is unlikely to start until late 2012 so, in preparation for this launch, UK homeowners can apply for a grant for their wood pellet boiler installation.
The current RHI Premium Payment levels are:
|
Heat Technology
|
Payment Per Installation |
| Air Source Heat Pumps |
£850 |
| Biomass Boilers |
£950 |
| Ground Source Heat Pumps |
£1,250 |
| Solar Water Heating |
£300 |
In order to receive a grant for a new wood pellet boiler, households must meet certain criteria. They must not be using gas heating, must have basic energy efficiency measures in place and applications can only be made for the main home.
The Renewable Heat Incentive Premium Payment is open for applications now but this is due to close on the 31st March 2012. To apply for the scheme please visit the Energy Saving Trust website, who are administering this side of the scheme on behalf of the DECC.
